Remembering Nichole

Nichole Maria Borchard

September 11, 1984 - September 2, 2024

Nichole was a loving wife to David Borchard and a devoted mother to their two beautiful daughters. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing their happiness and growth. She was the cherished daughter of Dianne Rodriguez and granddaughter of Gail Fox-Seaman. Treasured daughter-in-law of Dave and Peg Borchard; Nichole’s warmth and kindness were reflections of the love she and her family shared.

Her journey took her from the University of Florida to the bustling streets of New York City, where she pursued a career in marketing and communications. While earning a master’s degree in public relations from New York University, Nichole’s work became a platform for her deep commitment to social justice. Early in her career, she discovered the power of advocacy while working with a Florida State senator. Nichole later interned with the Manhattan Borough President, developing programs to support those without access to traditional financial services.

Nichole’s life took a beautiful turn when she met David in the West Village, and their love story flourished in Carroll Gardens. After moving to Buffalo, they married in 2015 in Miami, Florida. In Buffalo they built a home and grew their family, welcoming their two daughters. Here she continued to channel her energy into community service, creating a foundation to support veterans with traumatic brain injuries and later working with the Field and Fork Network to expand food access programs across NY.

Nichole’s bright spirit touched everyone she met. Her beaming personality, infectious laugh, and unwavering determination will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many communities she served.

I hired Nichole around 2006-2007 at Meridian Capital in Boca Raton. She worked in Capital Markets and was very smart and effective in her work. She was well loved by everyone and extremely professional. I remember that She and I had a long talk about her going back to NYU for her masters (I had done the same 15 years prior), and when she was accepted, I was thrilled for her, but knew that she would be missed by her co-workers (including me), clients, and colleagues. She was a kind soul with real determination to learn and improve all the time. I am so sorry for her beautiful family. She was really one of the good ones.
